Our Life in Music

The Singers support our Sunday morning worship services with regular performances of anthems, cantatas, and seasonal special selections.  We rehearse every Wednesday evening in the church Sanctuary.  The choir also leads the congregation in liturgical singing, and trains in general music theory.  There is only one requirement to join the choir and that is a desire to serve the Lord and the people of Peace.  You do not need to read music, or have any unique skill.  Contact Will at music@myplc.org for more information.

 Hand Bells never sounded so good.  The Peace Ringers support Sunday morning worship services regularly throughout the year.  The Ringers focus on ringing as a team, basic ringing techniques, and learning to read music notation (rhythm, note names).  The Peace ringers rehearse every Wednesday night from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m.  Both adults and youth as young as fourth grade may ring in the ensemble.  In addition, we focus on ringing a range of Level-I and Level II bell music, usually ringing three octaves.  No experience is necessary to join our group, just a desire to serve the Lord and the people of Peace.  Contact Tara at music@myplc.org for more information.

Sunday January 22nd at 12:30, following the 11:00 service, your presence is requested to help us kick off a new branch of the music ministry at Peace. The “Instruments of Peace” is an instrumental ensemble that is open to any instrumentalist – middle school age and up. Once a month, the ensemble will accompany service music, provide special music, and may also provide instrumental accompaniment for one of our other ensembles. We will tailor the music selection and rehearsal schedule to the instrumentation and skill level of the ensemble. Do you sing, play the piano or other instrument?  Do you belong to a group that likes to harmonize?  Whatever your musical talent, there is a place for you in our special music program.  Opportunities include Sunday morning worship, special services, and other events throughout the year.  Will Derr is the person to contact for more information or to volunteer your talent.  Contact Will at:  music@myplc.org.
