2020 Confirmation Students

Peace Lutheran Church will confirm four students at its outdoor worship service on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Jada M., Sarah C., Corrine W., and Carleigh B. will, in the presence of God and the Peace Lutheran Community, confess and affirm their Christian faith. The Rite of Confirmation will appear different from years past, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are incredibly proud of all our confirmation students who rose to the challenge and enthusiastically accepted online confirmation classes in March.

Jada M.

Jada is 13 years old and a student at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School in Waldorf, Maryland. She wants to go to beauty school after graduating from high school and embark on a career in cosmetology. Jada enjoys doing hair and nails in her free time and likes it so much she feels it will make a great career path for her. One of her favorite memories at Peace Lutheran Church is the annual Christmas pageant because it is so fun to watch and provides an opportunity to share her gift of acting and making people feel welcome. Besides hair and nails, Jada likes to paint and experiment with art.

Sarah C.

Sarah is 13 years old and a student at Milton Somers Middle School in LaPlata, Maryland. She is a natural caregiver and is still discerning what academic and career path she wants to take after high school. Whatever path she takes it will involve helping people or animals. Sarah is an avid travel soccer player, loves the sport, her teammates, and encouraging others to play. One of her fondest memories at Peace Lutheran Church is playing a stable animal in the Christmas pageant - specifically the cow. She does not limit her competitive spirit to the soccer field as she loves archery and paintball.

Carleigh B.

Carleigh is 15 years old and a student at McDonough High School in LaPlata, Maryland. She is discerning where her interests will lead after high school and is considering either becoming an FBI agent or an architect. "Both of these jobs seem very interesting to me. As an FBI agent, I would help save the world. And I just like building houses on my computer and I say I am pretty good at it." Carleigh's hobbies include baking and painting where she can express her creativity after being inspired by Pinterest. Her favorite memory at Peace Lutheran Church is helping with the Food Pantry. In addition to her hobbies of painting and baking, she likes to skateboard and her favorite color is sage green.

Corrine W.

Corrine is 14 years old and a student at North Point High School in Waldorf, Maryland. Helping people has always been something she knew her career would entail, so she plans to pursue a career in medicine. Corrine's mother, Nancy, has been a tremendous inspiration in her life and for helping others. She is a creative individual who showcases her creativity in writing, drawing, sewing, makeup, and styling. Reading is also one of her favorite pastimes and she takes great pleasure in learning and being involved in academic clubs at school. Her favorite memory is being able to walk into worship and sit with her friend and teacher Ms. Beth who has inspired and helped her develop her faith. Corrine loves snow, cold weather, and the rain and wants to settle in a place that is cold and environmentally advanced like Vancouver or Seattle. The holiday seasons are also very special to Corrine.
