Peace In Pictures
Charles County Department of Health PrEP 4 Pride
The first Charles County Pride celebration was held on May 20 at the Charles County Department of Health, and over a thousand individuals registered to attend. Over three hundred people visited Peace Lutheran Church's booth and were warmly greeted by our wonderful volunteers. Your kindness and encouragement are greatly appreciated, and many thanks to our volunteers. In October, Peace Lutheran will take part in Southern Maryland Pride. To learn more about Southern Maryland Pride and how you can support Peace's participation, contact Becky D'Ambrosio and Pastor Eric.
Day of Pentecost, Confirmation, and more...
Pentecost derives its name from the Jewish festival celebrating the harvest and the giving of the law on Mount Sinai fifty days after Passover. Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the Holy Spirit as God’s presence within and among us. In Acts the Spirit arrives in rushing wind and flame, bringing God’s presence to all people. Paul reminds us that though we each have different capacities, we are unified in the Spirit that equips us with these gifts. Jesus breathes the Holy Spirit on his disciples, empowering them to forgive sin. We celebrate that we too are given the breath of the Holy Spirit and sent out to proclaim God’s redeeming love to all the world (Sundays & Seasons, Augsburg Fortress, 2023).

As church together, we will confirm six teens during worship on May 28 and June 7:
Ki'Myia D., Elijah S., Brennan R., Christopher D., Jaytrin S., and Christopher M.
Our teens have spent the past 26-weeks with Pastor Eric deep in study of scripture, the catechism, and church history. Please join us in worship as we commemorate this faith milestone with our youth and their families.
Summer Liturgy
Beginning Sunday, 28 May, we'll be introducing a new liturgical setting for the summer and Season after Pentecost cycle. With the new liturgy comes a paired down order of worship with more song. You can listen to a preview of the new liturgical setting here.
