Sunday School

The Sunday School program at Peace Lutheran Church is designed for children Pre-K through 12th Grade. Each class is aimed at helping children and teens experience and explore their faith while learning about God’s unconditional love through lessons and activities that are age appropriate.

Children and teens are invited to join Sunday School any time during the year. Classes are held most Sundays, excluding summer, from 9:00 am to 9:50 am.

Pre-K through 5th Grade

9:00 a.m.

Meets in the Sanctuary

Pre-K through 5th Grade Sunday School gather at 9:00 am in the sanctuary to enjoy a fun introduction to the day’s lesson that includes a video, singing, and prayer. Children return to the sanctuary at 9:40 to enjoy more singing and to learn the Lord’s Prayer. Children are welcome to join Sunday School at any time throughout the Sunday School season.

Note: Due to the COVID19 pandemic, Peace Lutheran Church has suspended in-person Sunday school for children in grades PK through 5th grade. Online Sunday school is available each week via YouTube video families can watch and complete activities throughout the week. Sunday school videos can be found at the bottom of this page. 

Confirmation

Meets in the Conference Room

Confirmation at Peace is for teens in 6th through 7th grade. During the two-year cycle, teens are introduced to Martin Luther’s Small Catechism and a more in-depth exploration of the Old and New Testament. Teens will work with Pastor Shannon and the Youth and Family Minister to develop their faith statements in preparation for their confirmation in the 8th-grade year.

OASIS Bible Study

Meets in the 
Youth Room

OASIS Bible Study is the Sunday school program for teens in grades 8 through 12. OASIS Bible Study offers a relaxed environment with a  less-formal curriculum compared to what teens have experienced through 8th grade. The focus is to allow teens to engage their faith through a variety of activities that includes Bible Study, topics on Church history, and social justice. Teens often have sincere questions about religion and where religion fits in their lives. OASIS Bible Study, through its conversational approach, provides a space to ask those questions while experiencing God’s unconditional love.

Online Sunday School

In response to the COVID19 pandemic, Peace Lutheran Church has transitioned to online Sunday school by providing weekly YouTube videos with lessons, activities, song, and prayers. Videos run between 15 to 20 minutes and can be watched at the convenience of the family. In addition, activity sheets, coloring pages, and family resources are available and can be accessed using the link in the video description box, or the link below.
