Food Ministry

Welcome to Peace Lutheran Church's food ministry page, where we extend a warm invitation to join us in making a difference in the lives of those in need in Charles County, Maryland.

Our food ministry is a hub of community engagement and compassion, dedicated to serving those facing food insecurity with dignity and care. At the heart of our efforts is our monthly food pantry, where we open our doors on the first Saturday of every month to distribute nourishing food to individuals and families in our community.

Through the dedication of volunteers and the generosity of donors, we are proud to provide sustenance to over 600 individuals annually, reaching households from all corners of Charles County. We understand that food insecurity can affect anyone, regardless of background or circumstance, and we strive to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported.

Beyond our food pantry, our ministry is committed to fostering connections and building relationships within our community. We host regular events and initiatives that bring people together to share meals, stories, and laughter, creating a sense of belonging and solidarity.

Whether you're interested in volunteering, donating, or simply learning more about our work, we invite you to explore our website and join us in our mission to nourish bodies and spirits in Charles County. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing hunger.

Elsie's Pantry

Elsie's Pantry is the heart of Peace Lutheran Church's commitment to serving our community with love and compassion. Named in honor of the cherished memory of Elsie Draughn, a beloved member whose tireless dedication to helping others touched countless lives, our food pantry embodies her spirit of generosity and kindness.

Operating on the first Saturday of every month from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, Elsie's Pantry provides vital support to individuals and families facing food insecurity in Charles County, Maryland. Located in the welcoming embrace of Peace Lutheran Church, our pantry offers curbside food distribution in the church's parking lot, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all who seek assistance.

Through the dedication of our volunteers and the support of our community, Elsie's Pantry strives to create a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. We believe that no one should go hungry, and we are committed to providing nourishing food to those in need, just as Elsie herself would have done.

Whether you're in need of assistance or looking to lend a helping hand, we invite you to join us at Elsie's Pantry as we come together to share hope, kindness, and sustenance with our neighbors in Charles County.
